a collection of improvised organ and piano pieces in various tuning systems, recorded december '25 - january '26.

systems is the product of many long sessions of improvisation and exploration, resulting in seven pieces for organs and piano in various non-standard tuning systems. much of this time was spent simply sitting and observing the complexity that emerges from just a few simple intervals, and the psychoaccoustic effects such tuning systems unlock.

the sessions resulting in this album were an exercise in restraint and focus, and in sitting with uncomfort and unfamiliarity; a contrast to the relentless and rampant consumption that rules modern life and the many ‘innovations’ of the neoliberal machine designed to pacify and control.
